We’re delighted to be offering an aromatherapy package from our good friends at Earth Remedies. Phoebe Howe, known locally as ‘the Witch of the Wick’ is a gifted aromatherapist and massage therapist. Lockdown rules permitting, she runs a popular spa in Hackney Wick, where she sees people for a wide range of reasons, from chronic anxiety to creative block. We also like going just because her exquisite blends and healing touch are a great antidote to the stresses of modern life. She is now offering a treatment online.

Why aromatherapy?

In the Re-Enchantment Issue, Professor Ronald Hutton listed aromatherapy as one of the current alternative therapies derivative of cunning craft. Plant scents have been used for centuries to help stimulate and calm the nervous system, induce trance states and aid sleep. Aromatherapy is a form of therapy that harnesses the powerful scents from plant molecules to improve holistic health. Holistic health looks at the body as a whole, understanding that the mind and the body work together to achieve an optimum state. Each plant has its own energy and unique pattern that creates an effect on the individual. Paring a person to a plant is an important part of the therapeutic process. Aromatherapy works wonderfully alongside traditional therapies, or on its own.

The package includes:

• A 30min zoom consultation

• A bespoke aromatherapy product

• A bespoke ritual and magical intention exercise printed on plantable seed paper

How does the package work?

During the aromatherapy consultation, we will play detective to unlock what you need to change in your life and what essential oils will work best for you.

I will then begin to create a blend and product specific to your needs that give the desired effect. Focusing on either drawing something into your life or something you wish to release from it.

I work with what I call aromatherapy magic. This is using the power of plant aromas with ritual or spell work, crafted in time with an array of energetic forces to enhance the desired effect; forces such as the seasons, lunar cycles, elements and times of the day. When we align our intent with nature and its energetic forces we can ignite great change.

You will receive a small booklet with information on the ritual and bespoke product and instructions on how to enact your bespoke spell. The booklet is made from biodegradable seeded paper so you can plant it when complete.
